We are looking for a Certified Marine Technician to join our team at our waterfront location on Kootenay Lake! Jones Boys Boats sells Yamaha Motors,  ATVs, UTVs and Waverunners. We carry Kingfisher, Thunder Jet, Campion and G3 Pontoon Boats as well as Mercury motors. Competitive wages and benefits are available for an eligible applicant.

Job Duties:

– Maintain, diagnose and repair boats, motors, watercraft, trailers, ATVs and UTVs

– Keeping up on required training

– Provide prompt, dependable, high quality service

– Provide accurate work orders, timesheets and estimates

– Communicate with customers and other departments including parts and sales

– Work closely with the service writers, parts and sales departments

– Keep work area tidy and organized daily

Requirements:

– Certified marine mechanic (preferable)

– Experience in the marine industry (preferable)

– Boating operating experience, as we are an on the water location and water testing boats is required

– Class 5 drivers license and boating license

– Computer skills

– Ready to work with own tools

We are currently looking for a Rigger to join our team. What is a rigger? Imagine being able to work on ATVs, UTVs, boats and watercraft, all without having to deal with Saltwater corrosion, frames packed with mud and the smell of someone’s neglected wet life jackets. A rigger’s duties include assembling new units, along with hanging outboards on new boats, and installing new accessories. Jones Boys Boats is a clean and safe work environment. • Start May long weekend, end September long weekend
• Friday – Monday (weekends and long weekends)

• Greeting and orientating rental customers
• Getting rental boats ready
• Launching boats in and pulling out of the water
• Keeping service logs of boats and reporting any damages, etc.
• Making sure boats have all safety equipment
• Ensuring boats are ready/clean prior to rentals
• Keeping in touch with renters
• Helping in other departments of dealership when not doing rental duties
• Learn how to sell items over the counter and answer phones

• Must be able to operate a boat and a tractor
• Must have own transportation to and from work
• Must be willing to work weekends and long weekends
• Mature, friendly and excellent customer service skills
• Basic computer and phone skills
• Able to multi-task and be flexible
• Able to work outside in the summer
